2024 Chevy Blazer EV AWD Engine, Changes, Models – From the 1960s until 1994, Chevrolet made the Blazer, a tough body-on-frame pickup truck that could handle the great outdoors. The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV is a midsize crossover that continues in the tradition of the original Blazer. It’s been on the market for three years and has gone through a steady stream of small but significant changes to keep it relevant in a very profitable field.
Chevy has a good reputation in the US, but their crossover. Blazer doesn’t measure up to the standards set by the Ford Edge or the Honda Passport. This is because of its low efficiency, shoddy construction, and uncomfortable confines.
2024 Chevy Blazer EV Redesign
Some new features have been added to the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV, although it hasn’t been totally redesigned. To begin, we have reduced the number of formerly available hues. Tintcoat in pewter, iron gray, cayenne orange, and cherry red has replaced the previous nightfall gray, graphite, and cajun red. The various trims now have other optional and standard additions.
On the L and 2LT grades, urethane wheels replace the leather ones that would typically be given as standard equipment. Another difference is that the 3LT rarely includes the Infotainment 3 Plus suite anymore. Now, though, it’s an optional upgrade.
As of the 2LT trim level and upwards, the Chevy Safety Assist Package was made standard equipment across the board for all Chevrolet vehicles. IntelliBeam lighting, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and frontal collision avoidance technologies are just some of the new additions. V6-powered, FWD models are now trailerable.
Interior Design
The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV’s cabin will be familiar to Camaro owners. The Blazer’s interior was designed around the driver, taking inspiration from the cockpits of classic muscle cars. You can reach anything you need to quickly and effortlessly, and the dashboard appears like it was lifted straight from a vintage BMW race car.
Even in its most stripped-down form, the outstanding quality of the build remains unaffected. The majority of the high-traffic areas have a soft-touch finish, while only a few have a hard plastic. Unfortunately, the Chevrolet Blazer has a smaller cabin than its competitors, making it less practical for transporting people and things than other vehicles.
As a result, you’ll naturally end up looking more athletic as a whole. Since active noise reduction has become the norm, traffic noise is now barely noticeable. The only people who need to worry about getting squeezed are those with huge frames, as there is plenty of room for everyone else. The entry and exit are simple; however, those of you who are exceptionally tall may need to stoop a little.
Adding a sunroof will reduce headroom even further, but the trade-off is a more elegant cabin. The eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat has climate control and may be heated or cooled. The addition of blind spot monitoring equipment improves the already excellent outward visibility.
Engine Performance
A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 227 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque drive the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV’s front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The 2LT is the only trim level where this engine is available. The crossover can tow up to 1,500 pounds with this engine and up to 3,550 pounds with the trailering kit.
The 3.6-liter V6 engine is the way to go if you want to get up and go. The Blazer has 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, and independent testing has shown that it can go from 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds. We set our watches to the same time. This is because the more powerful engine limits the maximum towing capability to 1,500 pounds when not equipped with the trailering package and increases it to 4,500 pounds when equipped with the package.
There are other options, such as the Ford Edge ST, which provide even more excitement than Chevrolet’s fast crossover. The bad news is that the 2.5-liter, four-cylinder base engine used last year has been removed from this year’s list of powertrain options for your midsize Chevy, but the good news is that it now has 197 hp.
All trim levels of the 2LT, 3LT, and Premier now come standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It generates 227 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque and may be mated to front-wheel or all-wheel drivetrains. Though it may not have the same sporty appeal as the high-design riders’ motorcycles, this one has plenty of power to get you where you need to go.
Get the most thrills out of your Blazer with the 3.6-liter V6 engine that comes standard on the EV and is optional on the 3LT and Premier. It can power the front wheels alone or all four with its 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. This car may not have the fastest acceleration out of the gate, but it has lots of peps and really shines when it gets on the open road.
2024 Chevy Blazer EV Release Date and Price
Since the L and 1LT trim levels have been removed from the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV lineup, the base MSRP has climbed from $28,800 for the L to $33,400 for the front-wheel-drive 2LT with the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. A 3LT starts at $37,600, and with the $500 V6 option, it jumps to $38,500. Comparatively, the sporty EV’s sole V6 variant costs $41,100, while the Premier’s starting price is the same as a 2.0-liter turbo and $41,600. If you want all-wheel drive, expect to pay an additional $900 for the EV and Premier and $2,700 for the 2LT and 3LT.
A $1,195 destination charge is added to the price of a Chevrolet vehicle like the Blazer, which is not included in the price listed. Our $50,585 Blazer EV AWD was not cheap (including destination). Your options are worth nearly $5,500, and the math is easy. Given that this is a product line that provides both low costs and high value for the money, we were shocked to find neither. Though smaller than the X5, the BMW X3 still provides just as much fun behind the wheel (if not more) for just over $51,000.
