2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV Exterior, Models, Specs – The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV will compete with the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6 in the compact two-row electric crossover market. The Equinox EV will be available in single- and dual-motor configurations, with theoretical power outputs of up to 580 horsepower, and will be built on General Motors’ scalable Ultium Platform. The LT and RS trims will be offered, appealing to people who want a sportier crossover EV, and both fleet and retail versions will be available.
Despite its greater size and higher status, a starting price of roughly $30,000, which is less expensive than Chevrolet’s most inexpensive existing EV, the Bolt, despite its greater size and higher status, makes the Equinox EV the first genuinely affordable EV. All RS models will have a blacked-out front end and top, while all models will have split headlamps and a full-width LED strip on the nose, which is reminiscent of Cadillac EV ideas.
2024 Chevrolet Equinox Redesign
For the 2024 Chevy Equinox model year, all-new Equinox variants will have redesigned grilles, a revamped front fascia, standard LED headlights, new LED taillamps, and four fresh wheel styles. Power-folding outside mirrors with a heating function are standard on models with the RS trim level or higher.
The Midnight/Sport Edition package is now available on the LS and LT trims, while the Redline Edition gets a new design. Forward collision warning and lane departure warning are two of several Chevy Safety Assist systems that come standard on all models. More models now come equipped with adaptive cruise control. If you buy one of the Premier or High Country models, you’ll also get an eight-inch color driver information screen.
2024 Chevrolet Equinox Interior
For the most part, the Chevrolet Equinox’s interior does what it should for buyers in this market class. Lots of room, a ton of storage options, and an ergonomic design make it easy to carry your family from point A to point B. A few materials, especially on the higher trims, aren’t as pleasant to the touch as they could be, but this does not completely detract from the functional interior’s overall charm.
The base model has a six-way manual driver’s seat, a 3.5-inch driver display, and tri-zone temperature control, but there are enough trims to add all the amenities you wish, such as motorized front seats, wireless phone charging, or parking sensors, to the vehicle. With the optional captain’s seats in the second row, the RS we drove could accommodate seven people. Standard equipment includes a bench for the second row. The Jet Black/Spice Red color combination was also a favorite of ours.
Engine
The 3.6-liter V6’s outputs of 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft are competitive, even if it isn’t the most sophisticated engine in its class. Natural aspiration engines are known for delivering smooth and consistent output. Because of this, the Equinox is a joy to drive both in town and on the highway, where it can go the speed limit without causing any issues.
A nine-speed automatic gearbox couples the V6’s power to the road. For a mid-size crossover, we found its transmission to be both smooth and swift enough for the vehicle’s size. When it comes to automatic start/stop systems, we can’t claim this for every new car, even those that cost substantially more.
2024 Chevrolet Equinox Release Date and Price
The Chevrolet Equinox LS has an MSRP of $33,700 as its starting point. The LT Cloth costs $36,200, the LT Leather $39,900, and the RS $44,200. The Premier costs $46,600, while the Chevy Equinox costs more than $50,000 in the High Country. That price includes a US destination charge of $1,195, as well as all optional features. Upgrading from front-wheel drive (FWD) to all-wheel drive (AWD) costs an extra $2,000 on the base model and a similar sum on each of the other models.
