For the first time in decades, the 2024 model year will offer a diesel engine in addition to the two gasoline V8 engines with a combined output of up to 420 horsepower. Additionally, the Tahoe will have increased interior space, a more comfortable suspension, improved handling, and cutting-edge technology.
Chevrolet’s biggest competitor in this sector is the Ford Expedition, which it wants to outperform with these enhancements. Tahoe’s competitors are the GMC Yukon and the facelifted Nissan Armada.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Redesign

Another peculiarity is the motorized sliding center console, which, while it appears to be a gimmick, actually serves a purpose. The new model has a few benefits over the previous one. It is equipped with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, heated front seats, remote start, and three temperature settings. Additionally, the entry-level model has a Wi-Fi hotspot capable of 4G LTE connectivity.
Engine
The 5.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, as are the other engine options. This engine was formerly paired with an antiquated six-speed gearbox. Duramax’s new 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six engine produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. To top it off, the 6.2-liter V8 engine generates 420 horsepower while maintaining the diesel engine torque output.
While the standard V8 engine is capable of propelling the new Tahoe about town, its modest pace encourages a more leisurely driving style rather than a frenetic race from point A to point B. Throughout our testing, this engine proved to be fairly slow. As a result, if you can afford it, we recommend switching to a different engine. While we prefer the 6.2-liter V8 engine for effortless passing, those looking to save money on petrol may want to consider the diesel engine.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Release Date and Price
The entry-level 2WD LS variant of the 2024 Chevy Tahoe is priced at $49,000 in the United States. The LT ($53,800), the RST ($57,100), the Z71 (4×4-only) ($59,200), and the Premier ($62,600) all follow closely behind. The High Country is the most expensive model in the range, beginning at $68,100 (with the diesel engine). Each model’s price includes a $1,295 destination freight charge.
